Terms and Conditions

Effective date: 28 May 2026

1. Who We Are and These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of SyncCV, including synccv.store, user accounts, upload, redaction, AI-assisted CV generation, preview, vault, download, billing, and related services.

In these Terms, “SyncCV”, “we”, “us” and “our” means the owner and operator of the SyncCV service. “You” means the person or organisation accessing or using the service. If you use SyncCV on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation.

By creating an account, buying credits, starting a subscription, uploading documents, or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use SyncCV.

2. Nature of the Service

SyncCV is a software tool that helps users create role-aligned CV content from user-provided CVs and job descriptions. The service may extract document text, apply automated privacy checks, send redacted text to AI providers, generate draft CV content, provide match analysis, and allow downloads in supported formats.

SyncCV is an assistive writing and formatting tool. It is not a recruitment agency, employment adviser, regulated legal adviser, financial adviser, immigration adviser, or professional background-checking service.

We do not guarantee interviews, job offers, career outcomes, suitability for any role, ATS ranking, employer acceptance, or any particular commercial or employment result.

3. Your Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for ensuring that all uploaded content is lawful, accurate, current, and yours to use.
  • You must review every generated CV before using it, submitting it, publishing it, or relying on it.
  • You must not submit a generated CV to an employer unless you are satisfied that it truthfully represents your actual experience, qualifications, skills, dates, employment history, and achievements.
  • You must not use SyncCV to mislead employers, fabricate experience, impersonate another person, or create fraudulent documents.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

4. AI Output, Accuracy and Hallucinations

AI systems can produce inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, duplicated, biased, or invented content. Although SyncCV is designed to reduce fabrication and improve output quality, we cannot guarantee that generated content will be error-free.

Generated content is provided for review and editing. You must independently check all wording, dates, employers, qualifications, certifications, responsibilities, metrics, achievements, and other claims before using any output.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any loss, rejection, reputational damage, employment issue, disciplinary issue, misrepresentation claim, or other consequence arising from your use of unreviewed or inaccurate generated content.

5. Privacy and Redaction Limits

SyncCV includes automated privacy checks and redaction features intended to reduce the personal information sent for AI processing. These features are helpful safeguards, not a guarantee that every item of personal data will be detected or removed.

You should use the redacted preview before syncing your CV and must not proceed if you are uncomfortable with the text shown. You may replace files or remove content before continuing.

Some information may be necessary for a useful CV, such as job titles, employers, dates, education history, skills, and professional achievements. You are responsible for deciding whether that information should be included.

6. Accounts, Eligibility and Acceptable Use

  • You must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of a parent or guardian to use paid services.
  • You must not upload malware, unlawful material, stolen data, third-party CVs without permission, or confidential information you are not entitled to process.
  • You must not reverse engineer, scrape, overload, probe, bypass, or interfere with the service or its security controls.
  • You must not use SyncCV to create discriminatory, defamatory, fraudulent, unlawful, harmful, or misleading content.
  • We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts where we reasonably suspect misuse, fraud, security risk, payment abuse, or breach of these Terms.

7. Credits, Subscriptions, Payment and Promo Codes

Paid features may be offered through one-off credits, subscriptions, promotional codes, free trials, or other plans shown at checkout. Prices, features, limits, and renewal terms are shown before purchase and may change for future purchases.

Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider. We do not store full card details. Your payment provider may apply its own terms, security checks, and fraud prevention rules.

Promo codes, free trials, discounts, or complimentary access may be changed, withdrawn, limited, or refused where misuse, error, fraud, or ineligibility is suspected. Unless stated otherwise, promotional benefits have no cash value.

Subscription plans renew until cancelled. You can manage cancellation and billing through the billing area where available. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not automatically refund past charges unless required by law or expressly stated.

8. Consumer Cancellation and Digital Services

If you are a UK consumer buying online, you may have statutory cancellation rights under UK consumer law. These rights can differ depending on whether you buy a service, digital content, credits, or a subscription.

Where you ask us to begin providing digital services or digital content during any cancellation period, you acknowledge that cancellation rights may be reduced or lost once the service has been fully performed or digital content has been supplied, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

This section does not limit any non-excludable consumer rights you have under UK law.

9. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of documents and information you upload, subject to the rights you grant us to host, process, redact, transform, display, and store that content solely to provide, secure, support, and improve the service as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you may use generated CV outputs for your own personal job applications.

SyncCV, the platform, software, design, branding, workflows, templates, prompts, redaction logic, and service infrastructure are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You must not copy, resell, white-label, or exploit the service except as expressly permitted.

10. Third-Party Services

SyncCV relies on third-party providers including hosting, authentication, storage, analytics, AI processing, payment, email, and monitoring providers. We are not responsible for outages, failures, policy changes, or acts or omissions of third-party providers outside our reasonable control.

Your use of integrated services may be subject to additional third-party terms, including Stripe terms for payment and billing management.

11. Availability, Changes and Beta Features

We may modify, suspend, withdraw, or discontinue all or part of SyncCV at any time. We may also introduce, change, limit, or remove features, models, formats, plans, limits, or workflows.

Some features may be experimental, beta, or dependent on third-party AI systems. Beta features are provided as-is and may be changed or withdrawn without notice.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect accounts and data. However, no online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, uninterrupted, or error-free.

You must promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorised access, misuse, vulnerability, or compromise affecting your account or the service.

13. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, representations, conditions, and guarantees, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, merchantability, non-infringement, and satisfactory quality.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, consequential, special, incidental, punitive, exemplary, or business losses, including loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, goodwill, anticipated savings, employment opportunity, reputation, data, or business interruption.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service or these Terms is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) £100.

The limitations in this section apply whether the claim arises in contract, tort, negligence, breach of statutory duty, misrepresentation, restitution, or otherwise.

15. Indemnity

If you use SyncCV for business purposes or on behalf of an organisation, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, unlawful content, misuse of the service, infringement of third-party rights, or use of generated outputs.

16. Termination

You may stop using SyncCV at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, create risk for us or others, misuse the service, or where required by law.

Termination does not affect accrued rights, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, intellectual property provisions, or any terms intended to survive termination.

17. Governing Law and Courts

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory protections of the country in which you live.

The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring claims in the courts of their country of residence where required by applicable consumer law.

18. Contact

Questions about these Terms should be sent through the SyncCV contact page. Legal notices should include your full name, account email, the nature of the issue, and enough information for us to investigate.
